Cambodia Health Promotion Challenge

Challenge Snapshot

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The impacts of the Khmer Rouge are still deeply felt throughout Cambodia, particularly in the healthcare sector, which continues to face numerous challenges.

With 50% of Cambodia’s population under the age of 22, there is a shortage of professionals across various sectors, notably in healthcare. Nutritional deficiencies, mental health issues, and non-communicable diseases pose significant threats to the community. Our Health Promotion Challenge is, therefore, essential for enhancing the community’s knowledge on crucial health topics and improving overall public health.

Making an Impact

CONTRIBUTE TO GLOBAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING!

This program offers a hands-on opportunity to collaborate with our team in Cambodia, contributing to our health education initiative. As you learn about current health issues affecting the local community, you will utilise your skills, knowledge, and passions to address these topics through health education workshops. You will primarily work at our local partner schools and can expect to cover topics such as:

Food safety and nutrition!

Disease transmission and prevention!

Female health and hygiene!

These workshops will help impact children and their families in Battambang to live healthier and longer lives.

*FYI: This is a carbon neutral program

I enjoyed my group and made the most amazing memories with them. I literally could not fault my experience with all the amazing people and all the different groups that we got to make our impact with. I loved it. I have changed as a person and would highly encourage any person regardless of their career background to get involved and spread the help that is needed!
Jordan Shawyer - Federation University
Cambodia has been such an incredible experience! I am forever grateful to have been part of a team who was able to support the Khmer locals and be part of a greater good. This trip has enabled me to become more grateful for everything.
Dounya Abdullatif - Deakin University
To say my trip was an amazing experience would be a serious understatement. I learnt so much about the world and about myself through my time in Cambodia and I will never forget the generosity and spirit of the people I met along the way.
