Our Impact

Long-term, sustainable impact is at our core.

We ensure that students who embark on a Challenges Abroad program are able to have a positive impact on the world and feel the power of being a Global Citizen. Our Annual Impact Report: 2023 reflects on the work done across our global community, identifying key achievements alongside our three main objectives:

1

Developing the next generation of Global Citizens

2

Delivering our long-term development projects

3

Becoming a carbon neutral organisation

Our Charity

The FutureSense Foundation is a registered charity (UK no. 1132101) that supports community development in rural, under-served communities in developing countries. With a team based year-round in each country, the FutureSense Foundation is able to work hand-in-hand with the local community, delivering projects that address actual needs to make a long-lasting impact. Our partnership enables us to ensure that all of our Global Citizenship programs have a long-term, sustainable community impact.

As a social enterprise, we have created and provide the majority of funding to our nonprofit foundation, The FutureSense Foundation, with a commitment of a minimum of 2% of sales revenue being donated each year. In the year 22/23, we donated 6% of revenue, and in the year 23/24 we donated 7% of revenue.

The Sustainable Development Goals

The FutureSense Foundation is aligned with the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development and is committed implementing long-term programs with a specific focus on education, health and livelihood support. The 17 Global Goals are the guiding principles that shape our work and ensure that we are part of a coordinated global effort to end inequality.
Going Carbon Neutral
We have partnered with an organisation called Evertreen to neutralise the carbon footprint generated by our programs. With Evertreen, we will be planting trees in Kenya and Nepal, supporting the local community in the area, generating employment and neutralising carbon emissions. In addition, we encourage students to participate in activities such as tree planting and reducing their use of plastic.
Take Climate Action! Help us plant trees, join community clean- ups and coordinate
sustainability workshops with the communities.
Say no to plastics! Help us eliminaite our plastic footprint as we strive to have plastic-free operaions across all of our destinations.

(Look out for our carbon neutral stamps on your program info!)
