From One Idea in 2012 to a Global Community
Challenges Abroad started in 2012 with one clear mission:
to transform traditional travel into powerful, ethical, meaningful experiences for young people.
We saw a gap — students wanted to travel, but they also wanted purpose. They wanted real-world skills, authentic cultural exchange, and the chance to make a difference.
What started as a small social enterprise soon grew into a global movement.
Today, our teams across the world work year-round with partner communities to support long-term goals aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. From education and youth empowerment to environmental sustainability, everything we do is built on genuine, sustainable impact.
