Where you’ll be based!
Surrounded by lush cloud forests, rolling hills, and a vibrant local culture, El Valle de Antón offers a side of Panama far removed from the bustling city life. Our Hub is nestled in this picturesque mountain town, known for its natural beauty, cool climate, and welcoming community.
In your free time, you can explore scenic hiking trails, visit local markets, wander past colorful streets and gardens, and take in the breathtaking landscapes of the surrounding mountains and crater lakes. This charming town provides a perfect balance of adventure, culture, and relaxation during your time in Panama.
Peru might be a global tourism hotspot, but beyond the breathtaking landscapes and rich Incan history, many communities face significant social and economic challenges. Rural communities in particular struggle to access essential services such as education, healthcare, and sustainable income opportunities.
Our team is based on the ground all year round, working hand in hand with the local community – this ensures that all our programs meet current community needs and are part of a long-term plan that aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. By joining a program in Peru, and contributing to our community projects, you will use your skills, knowledge and passions to create lasting, positive impact.
Panama Social Impact Challenge
- Type: Education & Community
- Location: El Valle de Anton, Panama
- Duration: 2 Weeks
- Purpose: Improve Access to Quality Education
Challenge Overview
Access to quality education in Panama remains a challenge, particularly in rural and indigenous communities. Many schools face limited resources, overcrowded classrooms and shortages of trained teachers, making it difficult for children to reach their full potential.
By supporting local schools through educational initiatives, you will help to provide learning opportunities, improve classroom engagement, and help learners build the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Your contribution to this program can make a lasting impact on the lives of the learners and the wider community.
Honestly, it was the best 2 weeks, and I would do it again in a heartbeat... Sharing this journey with such a positive and supportive team made the experience even more meaningful, and it reminded me of the power of community, even across different cultures and backgrounds.
