Challenge Snapshot
- Plant trees & join clean-ups for a greener future.
- Build learners' confidence through critical thinking, problem-solving & teamwork.
- Design engaging workshops for dynamic, inspired classrooms.
Overview
Nestled between lush mountains and the Mekong River, Luang Prabang is known as the heart of Laos, a UNESCO World Heritage city offering a peaceful, authentic setting for your Global Citizenship journey. However, many communities in the surrounding rural villages face barriers such as limited access to quality education and health services. Set against the backdrop of golden temples and the flowing Mekong, you will be working alongside local learners and their families. You could lead workshops in conversational English, STEAM, creative arts, and sports leadership, helping to build brighter futures in the heart of one of Southeast Asia’s most captivating cities.
In Luang Prabang, every experience is an invitation to discover what it means to be a Global Citizen. You’ll leave with new perspectives, lasting friendships, and the knowledge that your contribution made a real impact.”
- Focused on UN Sustainability Goals

Are flights included?
Flights aren’t included in the programme cost because many participants choose to extend their travels before or after the programme, so booking flights independently gives you the flexibility to arrange your own travel plans. It also works out more cost efficient if you book them.
Do I need any previous experience or qualifications?
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join most of our programmes. We provide comprehensive preparation and support before departure, as well as a detailed Programme Orientation on arrival in-country, ensuring participants feel confident and ready to contribute to the programme.
Can I raise money to fund my trip?
Absolutely! This is something we encourage you to do, and we’ll help you set up an official fundraising page so you can share it with your network to collect donations.
What is the accommodation like?
You’ll either be staying at our hub, or a local partner guesthouse in dorm-style accommodation, sharing your room with up to three other participants. There are western showers and toilets, as well as communal spaces for relaxing. While you will be provided with home comforts, they will be different to your usual standards and all part of the challenge!
