Meet the Team Behind the Mission

The people who guide, support, plan and champion every student before they leave home.

Arvind Malhotra | Founder & Director

It’s my belief that each one of us needs to play our role to tackle the challenges we face around the world. Whether it be the challenges of climate change, access to quality education or economic inequality we can all make a difference. Through small changes comes big impact. At Challenges Abroad Australia we are committed to developing global citizens who are able to define their purpose, share their passion and put their mission into practice as leaders of the future. We would like to invite you on our journey together, to create a better world and become part of a community of people who care.

Prakriti Malhotra | Director

I believe one student, one team, one programme can be a catalyst for change. Over the past two decades, we have sent out thousands of students and seen them grow as global citizens and develop as future leaders. The impact that our participants make in our partner communities continues to be inspiring. Spending time overseas gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself, experience new things, and realise your potential to create positive change in the world. I believe that together we can make a difference and build a brighter future for all.

Lizzie George | Head of Partnerships

With over eight years of experience and a lifelong passion for impactful travel, I believe in the power of purposeful experiences to inspire growth and create meaningful change. As Head of Partnerships at Challenges Abroad USA, I work closely with colleges, universities, and educational institutions across the US to empower students to step beyond their comfort zones. Supporting our partners at every stage—from initial collaboration through to the delivery of unforgettable overseas experiences—is central to my role, and I’m excited to help make these opportunities possible.

Chloe Rothwell | Head of Programs

My opportunities to travel, combined with my Indian heritage, is what sparked my interest in different cultures, and excitement about exploring new places. My passion for travelling took on new meaning after I participated in an overseas volunteer trip to Cambodia during my time at university. Since then, I have been focused on being more sustainable and making a difference (whether overseas or locally). In my role at Challenges Abroad I aim to inspire like-minded individuals to take on a similar challenge and take action as Global Citizens.

The opportunity to travel not only opens your eyes to the wider world, it allows you to step out of your comfort zone and learn more about yourself than you could imagine. It is a privilege to work with students, from the moment they first hear about Challenges Abroad, to the moment they touch back down in the UK after their incredible Summer Challenge. It only takes one student to make a huge difference overseas and I am so excited to invite you to be a part of our programmes.
