Nepal Global Citizenship Program

Challenge Snapshot

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

One of the major challenges in Nepal is the lack of access to quality education, hindering people from acquiring the skills needed for employment and breaking the cycle of poverty.

Local schools suffer from underfunding, limited hands-on learning (with rote-learning being the prevalent method), and English—a critical subject for advancing to high school and university—is frequently taught by teachers who are not fluent in the language.

This is where YOU come in…

Making an Impact

Inspire the next generation of changemakers!

Education builds the foundation of what we do across our Global Community. We believe that the best way to achieve positive change is by providing the next generation with access to quality education. By joining the team on this program, you’ll get to work on a range of awesome long-term education projects, some of which include:

Australian university students working towards sustainable development goal 4: quality education, while volunteering abroad in Nepal

Designing and facilitating conversational English sessions at our local partner to improve the learners’ competency and confidence in speaking English!

Australian university student facilitate STEM Education lessons at a local school in Kathmandu, Nepal

Engaging learners in STEM Education (science, technology, engineering, maths) and life skills workshops that allow them to learn in a more hands-on environment, develop their critical thinking skills and become more engaged in their education!

Australian university students volunteer abroad in Nepal and work on an infrastructure project at a local school in Kathmandu Valley

Working on an infrastructure project at one of our local partner schools to improve facilities and create a safer, more conducive learning environment for children!
