Thailand Health Promotion Challenge

Challenge Snapshot

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Thailand is currently facing several significant health issues, many of which exist due to its geography, socioeconomic challenges, and limited healthcare infrastructure.

Challenges include managing both infectious and non-communicable diseases, as well as rising environmental health issues. In addition to this, access to healthcare services remains uneven, particularly in rural areas. Our Health Promotion projects are vital for raising awareness, improving health education and building community capacity to provide emergency response.

Making an Impact

CONTRIBUTE TO GLOBAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING!

We have a range of partners in Thailand, from local schools to rehabilitation centres and hospitals. Through these partnerships, we are continuously working to improve community health, which is something you will be involved in as part of our Health Promotion Challenge. Supported by our team on the ground, you will be:

Designing and implementing educational workshops at our local partner schools and in the wider community! You could be focusing on key health issues such as mental health & well-being, nutrition & physical activity and preventative measures for non-communicable diseases.

Facilitating basic first aid training for students and teachers at our local partner schools!

Impacting wait times at a local hospital by conducting community screenings and health checks!*

*Participating in this activity may depend on your field of study or previous experience.

ENQUIRE NOW

Volunteering in the schools and health clinics for the past two weeks in this rural part of Thailand has been one of the most eye opening experiences for me in so many ways, and I will never forget my time here.
Alison Wiltshire - Australian Catholic University
This trip was an eye opener, not only did we have a good impact on the communities, it impacted me in the way of global and cultural understanding. It identified some health issues on which I was driven to help make the issues a little better and as a global citizen I had the best time learning about the cultures identity and ways of living. I would recommend this trip to many.
Emma Canning - University of Southern Queensland
One of the best experiences I’ve had and been a part of. Can’t wait to have more experiences and adventures like this.
Lily Barnes - Victoria University
