Nestled in the Kangra Valley of Himachal Pradesh, Palampur is known as the Tea Capital of North India, offering a breathtaking and meaningful setting for your Global Citizenship journey. However, many families in this rural northern town face barriers such as limited access to quality education and health services. Based against the majestic backdrop of the Dhauladhar Range of the Himalayas, you’ll work with children and their families to deliver engaging workshops in conversational English, STEAM, and creative arts that help create better learning environments for the students.
Through immersive cultural experiences, hands-on community engagement, and real-world learning opportunities, this programme helps you grow personally, connect with others, and make a difference that continues beyond your time abroad.

Are flights included?
Flights aren’t included in the programme cost because many participants choose to extend their travels before or after the programme, so booking flights independently gives you the flexibility to arrange your own travel plans. It also works out more cost efficient if you book them.
Do I need any previous experience or qualifications?
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join most of our programmes. We provide comprehensive preparation and support before departure, as well as a detailed Programme Orientation on arrival in-country, ensuring participants feel confident and ready to contribute to the programme.
Can I raise money to fund my trip?
Absolutely! This is something we encourage you to do, and we’ll help you set up an official fundraising page so you can share it with your network to collect donations.
What is the accommodation like?
You’ll either be staying at our hub, or a local partner guesthouse in dorm-style accommodation, sharing your room with up to three other participants. There are western showers and toilets, as well as communal spaces for relaxing. While you will be provided with home comforts, they will be different to your usual standards and all part of the challenge!
