Laos Community Paramedic Challenge
Make a real difference in local communities while exploring Laos' culture, landscapes, and people.
- Laos
Challenge Snapshot
- Build emergency response capacity in the Himalayan foothills.
- Plan & prepare engaging community training sessions.
- Small villages, big impact - one workshop at a time.
Overview
Imagine spending your days sharing life-saving first aid skills with local communities and your evenings watching the sun set over the Mekong River. Welcome to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage city where golden temples, peaceful rivers, lush mountains, colourful night markets, and hidden waterfalls create one of Southeast Asia’s most unforgettable destinations.
Many communities in Laos face challenges accessing emergency care, first aid training, and preventative health education because of economic and infrastructure barriers. Working alongside our local team, you’ll assist in delivering practical first aid and CPR workshops that give community members the knowledge and confidence to respond when it matters most.
No two days look the same. You could be planning interactive workshops with your team, delivering hands-on first aid training in the community, or, depending on your experience, connecting with local health professionals through community pop-up clinics. Once the day is done, it’s time to experience everything Laos has to offer.
- Focused on UN Sustainability Goals

Are you looking to elevate your experience?
Build your own community of people who care and inspire a team of Global Citizens to join you on this epic adventure. This is your chance to step up as a global leader and showcase your awesome leadership skills.
Not only will you feel a great sense of achievement, but it’s an experience that’s guaranteed to make you stand out in any future employment opportunity.
Are flights included?
Flights aren’t included in the programme cost because many participants choose to extend their travels before or after the programme, so booking flights independently gives you the flexibility to arrange your own travel plans. It also works out more cost efficient if you book them.
Do I need any previous experience or qualifications?
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join most of our programmes. We provide comprehensive preparation and support before departure, as well as a detailed Programme Orientation on arrival in-country, ensuring participants feel confident and ready to contribute to the programme.
Can I raise money to fund my trip?
Absolutely! This is something we encourage you to do, and we’ll help you set up an official fundraising page so you can share it with your network to collect donations.
What is the accommodation like?
You’ll either be staying at our hub, or a local partner guesthouse in dorm-style accommodation, sharing your room with up to three other participants. There are western showers and toilets, as well as communal spaces for relaxing. While you will be provided with home comforts, they will be different to your usual standards and all part of the challenge!
