Education has the power to change lives, and that’s exactly where you’ll make your impact. In the vibrant community of Bhaktapur, you’ll collaborate with local schools to bring learning to life through creative, hands-on activities that inspire confidence and a love of learning.
Many schools across Nepal continue to face challenges including limited funding, overcrowded classrooms, and a strong reliance on traditional rote learning. By introducing creative, hands-on learning experiences, you’ll assist local educators in shaping more engaging learning environment, while inspiring confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills amongst local learners.
Working as part of a team of Global Citizens, you’ll support long-term education initiatives through conversational English, STEM education, life skills activities, and creative learning experiences. You may also assist with small school improvement projects that create safer, more inspiring learning environments.

Are flights included?
Flights aren’t included in the programme cost because many participants choose to extend their travels before or after the programme, so booking flights independently gives you the flexibility to arrange your own travel plans. It also works out more cost efficient if you book them.
Do I need any previous experience or qualifications?
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join most of our programmes. We provide comprehensive preparation and support before departure, as well as a detailed Programme Orientation on arrival in-country, ensuring participants feel confident and ready to contribute to the programme.
Can I raise money to fund my trip?
Absolutely! This is something we encourage you to do, and we’ll help you set up an official fundraising page so you can share it with your network to collect donations.
What is the accommodation like?
You’ll either be staying at our hub, or a local partner guesthouse in dorm-style accommodation, sharing your room with up to three other participants. There are western showers and toilets, as well as communal spaces for relaxing. While you will be provided with home comforts, they will be different to your usual standards and all part of the challenge!
