Imagine spending your days creating unforgettable learning experiences with local children and your evenings watching the African sun disappear behind Mount Meru. In the rural communities surrounding Arusha, you’ll experience a side of Tanzania that few travellers ever get to see—one filled with welcoming people, vibrant culture, and moments you’ll remember for a lifetime.
Many schools in the region face overcrowded classrooms, limited resources, and growing barriers to quality education. That’s where you come in. Working alongside local educators, you’ll use your creativity, energy, and enthusiasm to bring learning to life through hands-on workshops that encourage curiosity, confidence, and participation.
Your days could include running conversational English sessions, STEM activities, creative arts, environmental awareness, and life skills workshops, with every activity designed around the needs of the local community. You may also assist with projects that improve school environments, creating brighter places where children can learn, play, and thrive.

Are flights included?
Flights aren’t included in the programme cost because many participants choose to extend their travels before or after the programme, so booking flights independently gives you the flexibility to arrange your own travel plans. It also works out more cost efficient if you book them. Don’t worry though, we’re here for support if you need us.
Do I need any previous experience or qualifications?
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join most of our programmes. We provide comprehensive preparation and support before departure, as well as a detailed Programme Orientation on arrival in-country, ensuring participants feel confident and ready to contribute to the programme.
Can I raise money to fund my trip?
Absolutely! This is something we encourage you to do, and we’ll help you set up an official fundraising page so you can share it with your network to collect donations.
What is the accommodation like?
You’ll either be staying at our hub, or a local partner guesthouse in dorm-style accommodation, sharing your room with up to three other participants. There are western showers and toilets, as well as communal spaces for relaxing. While you will be provided with home comforts, they will be different to your usual standards and all part of the challenge!
