Thailand Community Paramedic Challenge
Make a real difference in local communities while exploring Thailand's culture, landscapes, and people.
- Thailand
Challenge Snapshot
- Explore Northern Thailand's Hill Tribe communities.
- Build a network of first responders across hill tribe villages.
- Support community health screenings at local clinics.
Overview
In the beautiful remote village of Mae Sariang, you could be educating local schools and community groups in life-saving first aid and CPR one day, then exploring colourful night markets, ancient temples, and the breathtaking mountains of northern Thailand the next. This is your opportunity to experience community paramedicine in a completely different setting, build practical skills, and make a meaningful contribution where emergency healthcare can be difficult to access.
Across many rural communities, emergency response services are limited, and local volunteers often play a vital role in providing first aid before professional medical help arrives. Working alongside our local team, you’ll help strengthen community emergency response by designing and delivering engaging first aid and CPR workshops that build confidence, practical skills, and preparedness. Depending on your year level and experience, you may also have opportunities to engage with local healthcare professionals and support community pop-up clinics
- Focused on UN Sustainability Goals

Are you looking to elevate your experience?
Build your own community of people who care and inspire a team of Global Citizens to join you on this epic adventure. This is your chance to step up as a global leader and showcase your awesome leadership skills.
Not only will you feel a great sense of achievement, but it’s an experience that’s guaranteed to make you stand out in any future employment opportunity.
Are flights included?
Flights aren’t included in the programme cost because many participants choose to extend their travels before or after the programme, so booking flights independently gives you the flexibility to arrange your own travel plans. It also works out more cost efficient if you book them.
Do I need any previous experience or qualifications?
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join most of our programmes. We provide comprehensive preparation and support before departure, as well as a detailed Programme Orientation on arrival in-country, ensuring participants feel confident and ready to contribute to the programme.
Can I raise money to fund my trip?
Absolutely! This is something we encourage you to do, and we’ll help you set up an official fundraising page so you can share it with your network to collect donations.
What is the accommodation like?
You’ll either be staying at our hub, or a local partner guesthouse in dorm-style accommodation, sharing your room with up to three other participants. There are western showers and toilets, as well as communal spaces for relaxing. While you will be provided with home comforts, they will be different to your usual standards and all part of the challenge!
