The future of our planet depends on people who are willing to think differently. As an Environment Intern in northern Thailand, you’ll become part of the FutureSense Foundation team, working alongside local schools and communities to turn ideas into action. From researching climate challenges and designing sustainability initiatives to delivering engaging environmental education, you’ll gain practical, hands-on experience while helping create a more resilient future.
Across rural Thailand, the effects of climate change are becoming increasingly visible, with floods, droughts, landslides, and bushfires impacting communities, livelihoods, and the natural environment. Working alongside the FutureSense Foundation, you’ll contribute to long-term, community-led projects that raise environmental awareness, promote sustainable practices, and equip local communities with the knowledge and tools to respond to these growing challenges. Every project is designed to create meaningful, lasting impact.

Are flights included?
Flights aren’t included in the programme cost because many participants choose to extend their travels before or after the programme, so booking flights independently gives you the flexibility to arrange your own travel plans. It also works out more cost efficient if you book them.
Do I need any previous experience or qualifications?
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join most of our programmes. We provide comprehensive preparation and support before departure, as well as a detailed Programme Orientation on arrival in-country, ensuring participants feel confident and ready to contribute to the programme.
Can I raise money to fund my trip?
Absolutely! This is something we encourage you to do, and we’ll help you set up an official fundraising page so you can share it with your network to collect donations.
What is the accommodation like?
You’ll either be staying at our hub, or a local partner guesthouse in dorm-style accommodation, sharing your room with up to three other participants. There are western showers and toilets, as well as communal spaces for relaxing. While you will be provided with home comforts, they will be different to your usual standards and all part of the challenge!Â
