Make a real difference in local communities while exploring Thailand’s culture, landscapes, and people.
- Thailand
- Health & Wellness
Challenge Snapshot
- Help lead health & wellbeing workshops in community schools.
- Support mental health & nutrition education programs.
- Support community nurses on public health initiatives.
Overview
Good health starts long before someone walks into a hospital. As a Health Promotion Intern in northern Thailand, you’ll become part of the FutureSense Foundation team, working alongside schools, community groups, and healthcare professionals to develop initiatives that improve health, prevent illness, and build stronger, healthier communities. From researching local health challenges to designing community health programs and delivering engaging health education, you’ll gain practical experience while helping create lasting change.
Many communities around Mae Sariang face ongoing health challenges, with limited access to health education contributing to preventable illness and placing pressure on already stretched healthcare services. As an intern, you’ll contribute to long-term, community-led projects that promote healthier lifestyles, improve awareness of important health topics, and strengthen local capacity through education, prevention, and practical support. Depending on your qualifications and experience, you may also assist with community health screenings and first aid training.

Are flights included?
Flights aren’t included in the programme cost because many participants choose to extend their travels before or after the programme, so booking flights independently gives you the flexibility to arrange your own travel plans. It also works out more cost efficient if you book them.
Do I need any previous experience or qualifications?
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join most of our programmes. We provide comprehensive preparation and support before departure, as well as a detailed Programme Orientation on arrival in-country, ensuring participants feel confident and ready to contribute to the programme.Â
Can I raise money to fund my trip?
Absolutely! This is something we encourage you to do, and we’ll help you set up an official fundraising page so you can share it with your network to collect donations.
What is the accommodation like?
You’ll either be staying at our hub, or a local partner guesthouse in dorm-style accommodation, sharing your room with up to three other participants. There are western showers and toilets, as well as communal spaces for relaxing. While you will be provided with home comforts, they will be different to your usual standards and all part of the challenge!
